🔗 Share this article Vinted Members Voice Frustration Over Size Modifications Members of the platform have expressed outrage due to a modification that led to items being listed as the wrong size. The popular resale platform has updated its size classifications for women's and children's clothes but did not contact all users about the change. Online Platforms Backlash Countless users and merchants have taken to social media saying Vinted listings now show a different size category than originally posted as a result of the reclassification. The company said the updated approach better aligns with comparable marketplaces. The platform has recommended to check their listings and manually change the size where appropriate, resulting in member annoyance. Size Classification Changes Before the change, the sizes had both a single numeric size and a letter, for instance S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes an alphabetical indicator and numerical range for example S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the measurements have been reclassified - such as a large size used to be a 12 but is now a UK 16-18. Shopper Stories One content creator, who produces content about larger sizing, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. Another user, located in Scotland, said garments she listed with size 14 tags were displaying on the service as size 20–22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they will likely be quite upset," she said. Required Changes A different user, based in Derby, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizing for "all her products". "For me this is particularly frustrating, since I have chronic health issues and selling on Vinted has been paramount following partial earnings loss," she said. Service Background The app has more than 100 million shoppers, comprising 18 million UK members. It has emerged as a preferred choice compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time when a surprising modification within the service has received backlash: earlier, the service retracted a modification to its shipping options following member complaints.
